Lynns Feijoa and Date Loaf



1 cup peeled and chopped fejoas
100 grms chopped dates
250 mls boiling water
1 rounded cup sugar
50gms butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 beaten egg
1 ¾ cups  flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda

Put feijoas, dates, butter, sugar and boiled water in a pot and bring to the boil and simmer for 5 mins.  cool for a while and then stir in vanilla and beaten egg. Then fold in dry ingredients.  Don’t over mix.

Cook at 180 for 45 minutes in a large loaf tin or 2 small ones.
